What's your plan if the debt ceiling doesn't rise?

I ask because I don't really have one yet and I think I should start considering contingencies. My current plan is to budget for much, much more in the way of charitable donations to local food banks etc, in an attempt to make up for the various entitlements I expect to be cut.

No. It took me three years and 4 nervous breakdowns to get an associate's degree only to not get the 3.2 GPA I needed to transfer, plus the whole time they canceled my financial aid every semester and made me beg them to get it back. I'm fucking done, I'm not capable of working hard enough to convince the fucks in charge to give me a better job.

I'm sure that the higher tax bracket only observes me though a powerful telescope. I'm not sure I could even find a higher tax bracket.

My plan is to buy some guns, and shoot anyone who comes near me, and then eat them, because the economy will spiral out of control and employment rate will be up in the 80% range.

(except for starbucks) Starbucks will still be going strong. It's the damn cockroach of the food/beverage business.

The world will not end. Ironically, treasury has been getting a nice bit of extra revenue, we can avoid the actual ceiling until at least August 10th.

At which point general panic ensues. The same problem we had when the budget was not passed will happen again. Congressional staff members will be forced to give back their balckberrys. Parks will close. The EPA won't issue another business killing regulation for at least a few days. The speaker of the house will cry. The POTUS will address the people and say, "I'm impotent, damn it."

S&P will downgrade our bonds (they will do it anyway ... it's the spending thing that is causing it) and the bond market will get over it. Then they pass everything and a half dozen Democrats line up to challenge Obama n the primary.

I'll move to Key West.

My backup plan has always been: Study French, apply as a computer tech person to Dumont d’Urville, Antarctica, live with the penguins, take up astronomy again, blog massively.
